Can be much easier to install than RMySQL

Very appealing idea but not worth the risk
I love the idea of being able to read/write to Excel spreadsheets. But I find that RODBC will often drop values from an Excel spreadsheet, without any indication that it has done so. No doubt...

Great package. Once you get it set up, it works quite well.
